I Like Pink
This little pink ball is thought to be the cause of the revolt.
The Revolt of the Golf Balls
A Golf Tale by Lee Owenby
October, 2006
It was a beautiful day on the golf course at Paris Landing State Park. Everything seemed pretty normal until one female golfer became caught up in an invasion of giant golf balls. That's right, I said, "Giant golf balls!!"
The fiasco started when a female golfer with bright pink shoes and toenails insisted on playing with a pink ball.
Well, apparently over the years a lot of balls have been lost in the woods surrounding the golf course and they have been growing. They became disturbed over the pink ball and immediately took it captive.
The woman retaliated by capturing a fairly large white golf ball and continued to whack it around the golf course.
The other golf balls became so enraged they formed a sneak attack from behind a golf shelter and finally chased the woman off the course.
Park authorities were notified and searched the woods to no avail. It is assumed the giant balls returned to their hiding places deep in the woods. The pink ball was never found and has been classified as "lost."
Artist Notes
I had a lot of fun with these photos.
My good friend Sharon Seaton of the Fishtale Lodge kept bugging me about doing some photos of the golf course at Paris Landing State Park. And since I'm not a golfer she offered to take me on a tour. She whacked a few balls while I took pictures of the scenery.
Sharon had no idea I also took a lot of pictures of her. I got some great photos of the golf course which are included in my Paris Landing Gallery but I really had a lot of fun creating these images of giant golf balls chasing Sharon around the course.
There is a "golf tale" of sorts which is included on the collage titled "The Revolt." It's a story about a crazy female golfer who likes pink and a revolt by all the golf balls which had been lost over the years.
A special thanks to Sharon for unknowingly modeling for these fun photos.
