I live just outside Paris, Tennessee in an area known as "Paris Landing." As a result ... most of my artwork is based on scenes of this area. As a matter of fact, I have posted over 200 images of "my neighborhood." This is how I have them categorized -
"Windows On The Square" - is a series of artwork depicting businesses on and around courtsquare in downtown Paris, Tennessee.
"North Poplar Street" - is a series based on historic North Poplar Street just off of downtown Paris, Tennessee.
"Paris Landing State Park" - a series based on the park which is just a few miles down the road.
"Rural" - is everything in between Paris and Paris Landing State Park.
Windows On The Square
I started working on "Windows On The Square" in the summer of 2007. I was inspired by all the old, historic two story buildings with beautiful brick work that look down on our courthouse square. While I was taking photos of all those upstairs windows I started noticing other very picturesque scenes like the relflection of the flag through the front doors of the courthouse. I got to looking around from an artist view point and soon discovered that "downtown" was full of ideas for future artwork. And so, a new art series began.
The series is not finished yet. I'm not sure that it ever will be - so check back. And let me know what you think of these. I'm always happy to hear from viewers. Send an email to Lee.
